It operates similarly to land-based WiFi networks and enables both passengers and crew to stay connected to the internet for communication, browsing, and accessing online services even when they are far from shore or travelling between ports.
Wi-Fi packages and pricing vary depending on the ship you are travelling on. There are packages available with different durations, quality levels, and options for the number of devices you wish to connect.
When connected to the ship’s Wi-Fi, you can surf the internet and use your phone as usual with predictable costs. However, if you want to make phone calls, you will need to enable ‘roaming’. Be sure to check roaming charges with your mobile operator, as they can vary widely. Your operator is required to provide information about prices and usage limits, typically through a welcome SMS.
To avoid unintended data roaming charges, it is recommended to disable 'Data Roaming' on your device when using the ship’s Wi-Fi.
